Happy Birthday, Boys!

We had the boys' family birthday party right before Grant's birthday, which seemed to work out well last year.  December is such a crazy month to have a birthday, and since we have two, the simpler we can make them the better.  Right now the boys are in agreement with that, so we're going with it.

The party this year was pretty small, mostly because a) it was in December and people are BUSY and b) we threw it together in about a week's notice.  Landon was concerned about the the number of guests at the party when there was a lull and only the grandpas and grandmas had arrived.  He hung out by the present pile waiting to receive more guests.  :)

 ...and eventually got Grant to join him.  :)

 We ordered pizza for the party....EASY...and everyone was happy.  (including Mommy who spent zero time in the kitchen to prepare for the shindig, except for the time I wiped the counters down)

Sophia is Elmo crazy these days, and apparently has no Papa prejudice in her either.  She saw a Papa lap open and went for it.

And wait til you see this!!!  Ummmm, yes something struck the kids that was a little out of the ordinary at the party.  They all sat.  Cooperatively.  For several minutes.  And we got several EXCELLENT pictures.  WHAAAA??!  Nice!!  This one's a framer!

Grant waited patiently for his turn to open a gift.  

Landon opened a new light saber from Grandpa Larry and Grandma Chris first...and his reaction was priceless.  We could've stopped opening gifts at this point and he would've been happy I think.  The boy has a knack for the dramatic.  We can't blame this on Chad....I'm just hoping it pays off in the future and maybe he'll become the next Tom Hanks or something.  Right now, it just makes us raise our eyebrows a lot.

Grant got Wii Sports Resort which he is a huge fan of.  He loves to play at Tressa's and since we rented it once from Family Video he assumed we owned it and would ask for it a lot.  Now he can do a little slicing of fruit and sky diving whenever the mood hits him.

Grant also got some Avenger masks, which turned out to be the hit of the party (which you're about to see)  He, however, wasn't sold at first.  Those teeth on that Hulk mask were a little intimidating....but gosh did they make for some good pictures.  Highlights of the year for sure.  

....and my personal favorite! (dad requested this NOT be posted on Facebook, but he had to KNOW it was going on the blog for sure)  Grant is NOT amused in this picture by the way...which makes him the only one at the party who wasn't.  He warmed up to the masks though.

Uncle Scotty and Aunt Kellse bought Landon new tennies...and these pictures bring up a very good point that is blog worthy.  I'm no geneticist by any means, but there has GOT to be a gene in the Kutscher kids that results in an obsessive love for shoes.  Chad, Kelly, and Scotty ALL love shoes....and I think Sophia's got the gene as well.  She was the first to try on Landon's new shoes.

 Okay, also should note here this the second year of Landon really NEEDING a game he saw on television and as soon as we got it out of the box announcing, 'well, this isn't like it is on TV.'  Maybe next year I'll need to remind him of the gimicky game commercials.  Last year it was Pop the Pig, this year Doggie Doo.  Yes, Doggie Doo.  You're supposed to 'feed' this dog some goop, and squeeze this trigger on his collar, and the first one to scoop up his 'doo' wins.  Umm...YUCK.  And right up a six year old boy's alley.

Landon got a new Star Wars Wii game from Aunt Connie.  And upon putting it in the Wii to play, announced we had to have Creighton over IMMEDIATELY so he could get past the first level.  Lol!
