So I'm making one last ditch effort to catch the blog up from summer activities...and I've got lots of bloggin' to do. We're starting way back in early July when Landon had his 6 month CT scan at Children's. I'm going to do an abbreviated version, because this seems like so long ago that it's a blur. 
There's always drama involved in the CT scan because Landon has to be sedated so that means no drinking or eating for hours before. I was so proud of myself when I "tricked" him into eating a piece of toast by asking him to help me with the toaster, because I wanted some toast. This kid NEVER eats breakfast (unless we're at my mom and dad's and Grandpa makes pancakes). Yay, me. :)
We saw Landon's hem/onc doctor, Dr. Anim, who is a huge soccer fan, and also happens to be from Ghana (the team that beat the US in the World Cup). He always tries to get Landon to say "go Ars
enal!" which is his favorite European team, but Landon knows how this works with all the people telling him to say, "go Cubs" around here. He hasn't caved. Dr. Anim eats it up though. Landon wanted to wear his USA jersey to his appointment so that just fueled the fire.

Landon wanted to wear his USA jersey to his appointment so that just fueled the fire. After his appointment he did great with the CT. They got his IV in with minimal drama. Yay, us! And there was even talk about next time trying the CT without sedation. He even walked into the CT room with the nurses. They asked him if he wanted to see the spaceship, and he was all about it. HOWEVER, this kind of back fired when he woke up because he was pretty darned upset and disappointed that he didn't get to see the spaceship. Even 
though we told him he did, he didn't remember. We finally got him calmed down with an orange popsicle and a promise to visit the roof top garden, where we frequented last summer after his surgery.

That night, I called, as per Dr. Anim's instruction, and he let us know the CT was clear! YAAAAAA-HOOOOO! Landon is appointment free until October, when he will have an ultrasound and chest x-ray done again. In February, he'll have another CT, and if that one's okay we'll be on a yearly CT scan/checkup appointment routine. Last summer seems about a decade ago...and what a relief that is!!
