Hello, faithful blog readers! I hope you had a fantastic turkey day and your tummy has recovered from being stuffed! I think mine is on the mend. Although, it's harder to eat as much when there's physically just not the room there used to be in your stomach. Everything's more than a little squished down there. Doesn't leave a lot of room for turkey, potatoes, and noodles.
We had a great weekend being thankful! Wednesday night Grandpa and Grandma Nees and Mom and Dad came by the house on the way home from the hospital with Grandpa. He's feeling much better and on some new medication to make his heart stronger. They'll check on him on a few weeks to see if the medicine has done the trick or if he needs a defibulator. Either way though, we're thankful, he's on the mend...or will be very soon. Wednesday evening we rearranged the family room, which is always 70% of the battle of getting the Christmas tree up. And with the kitchen rennovation, we lost part of a family room wall....so it was even more challenging than usual. Once we got all that done, Chad and I would've been happy to call it a night, but someone else was VERY excited about getting the tree up, so we put it up and put lights on it Wednesday night, too. We didn't decorate it until this afternoon, but as you can see, he was excited about that part as well. The holidays are gonna be FU-U-UN this year!

We spent the day Thursday at Aunt Deanna and Uncle Don's eating, eating, (some of us napping), and eating some more. Here's Landon and Papa Larry with their poker faces on taking part in a serious game of blitz.
After he grew tired of that, Landon joined Abby in some tag team wrestling on Uncle Stallion on the floor. There's one way to help your turkey and dressing digest....let a couple of toddlers jump on your tummy! You're a braver soul than I, Scott Mehring.

We spent the afternoon at Grandma Linda's and then headed to Mom and Dad's that evening. Saturday, Grandpa and Grandma Nees came over and spent the day. The day was full of activity for Landon....playing pool, helping Grandpa hang Christmas lights, swinging outside, doing puzzles, etc, etc. Also in the afternoon, a few extra house guests showed up. Two stray puppies came up to the house. Evidently they've been hanging around this week. Earlier in the afternoon Landon was in
sisting that Dad and Chad call him Darth, as in
Darth Vador. Chad asked Landon if he was going to be Darth, who could Daddy be. Landon's response, "You can be the white guy." Chad's deciphering that as one of the storm troopers from Star Wars. When the puppies showed up, Landon named the black one Darth and the other one, "the white guy." Hopefully the force is with Darth and the White Guy and they manage to find someone to take them in before they get squished on the highway. (no guilt trip intended, Mom). Here's Landon snuggled up with his self-proclaimed "best buddy," Oliver. Oliver is very tolerant of Landon for as little as he sees him. Who knows, he may be rewarded for being so tolerant by having a sibling.....what do ya think Oliver...who will it be Darth or the White Guy?

Speaking of which, check out these two happy healthy giggling kids on the couch at "Vella's"....and our very own Cookie, I mean Raisin Monster. Hooray for the return of the camera and hooray for maternity leave. I'll be kissing the boys good bye and heading for the couch tomorrow morning. My plans include couch laying intermingled among some holiday decorating and holiday shopping list making. I'll update you when I go back to the doctor....Wednesday. I SHOULD have a date for you to mark your calendars, and after our 4 hours spent together in the car, I think we SHOULD be able to come up with a boy name here soon in case we need it. ;)
Landon's quotes of the week:
We went to the clinic to have his blood drawn on Friday, and Landon started crying upon pulling into the parking lot. "I don't wanna go HEEERE." As we were walking out, he said, "This is the bad house."
Aunt Kelly and Abby came by this afternoon and Landon was excited to show Abby our tree. "Abby! Look at our Christmas tree! It's got instruments on it!" I said, "Sweetie, they're ornaments....not instruments."
