Milwaukee Zoo/Lake Front Brewery

On Friday morning we hit up the Milwaukee Zoo, which was very nice.  Highlights of the zoo trip include Landon telling Grant to stop whining or 'we'll leave you with the meerkats,' seeing the flamingos and learning that their legs shake because they're cold and that has something to do with the size of their blood vessels but the details on that are escaping me now in, ahem, October.

Landon taught us that poison dart frogs aren't actually poinsonous when they're not in the natural environment, which Uncle Michael doubted, but Landon was proven correct after reading the info on the display.

Grant loved seeing the 'pea hawks'...

...especially the baby pea hawk that came close to our table at lunch.

...and here are a few of our favorite critter pics.

Later on Friday we put the parents of the year award in the bag by taking our children on a brewery tour full of swear words and sexual innuendos.  Thankfully Grant slept through it and Landon DID NOT write anything inappropriate in his third grade journal to result in me being called into the office....yet.
Landon sharing a brew (of the root kind) with Uncle Michael...

...and taking in something inappropriate with Chad...maybe learning what a bumwhacker was?
Landon, what did you think of the brewery tour?
Yeah.  Look at that smirk.
