We met mom and dad in Bloomington for lunch and followed each other the rest of the way up. When the drive was getting a little old, Landon requested Chad do his travel tour guide man that he does to get the kids going. Chad always puts his own little twist on the facts he's sharing...some of which may or may not be true/appropriate for children's ears. My favorite quote from Wisconsin Tour Guide Chad was, "And here you'll see the exit for Lake Geneva, the sister lake of Lake Jemima, who is also everyone's aunt." About this point, Grant requested that Chad stop talking because he was 'giving (him) a tummy ache.' I'm telling ya, we could almost go head to head with the Griswolds.
When we were almost to the hotel Chad had to maneuver through a turn about circle thingy that is apparently common in other states but not to us in Illinois (eye roll....I'm not proud of Illinois at this point in my life....turnabouts). Any who, it got a little dicey and Chad said a choice curse word. When we got through it I asked Chad if he could still see Mom and Dad behind us and he replied he didn't know that he lost them getting through that mess. I said he did a good job getting through it, and Grant pipes up from the back seat, "No you didn't! You said a bad word!"
After some serious contemplation we left the prize area with a variety of candies and a D&B football. The boys had so much fun that everything we did after that on the weekend was measured to the Dave and Buster's standard.
