Lady Rockets 2nd at State with a Gimpy Coach

The girls soccer season was a successful one to say the least...especially considering how the beginning of the season started out....a lot of injuries and a so-so record.  The girls did so well at the end of the season they played for the Super Sectional title at Edwardsville against Alton Marquette.  We stayed home and watched online, so these little Rocket fans could get to bed at a decent time.  After a double overtime win, to say they were pretty pumped would be an understatement.  So that was Tuesday...
...fast forward to Thursday, when I get a text from Chad after he hasn't made it to Landon's baseball game...'call me when you get a minute.'  I call, and he says 'I think I umm may have hurt myself, kind of bad.'  Elaborate please.
While practicing with the girls he tore his calf muscle and was totally unable to put any weight on his leg.  Thankfully our athletic trainer, Kerri, made a house call and got him fixed up at least to the point of being able to make it through the weekend.  He rode up with us, with his leg on the dashboard...and hobbled along with crutches all weekend.  :(

Shenanigans in the hotel room.

Lyndi!!!
they wouldn't be brothers if they didn't beat on
each other right?  Sigh.

So the girls won their first game...but lost the championship game.  I'm not putting the score on the blog, because we don't want to remember it, AND it wasn't a reflection of the game anyway. Sometimes the winner of the game isn't always the best team.  Let's just end it with that.  The girls were all pretty sad, but I'm sure after the sadness passed, they were proud of their 2nd place trophy.  Hey, 2nd's better than 4th!....Actually it's better than everybody (except 1st obviously)  Chad said at the end of the tournament he thought it was better to get 3rd and end on a victory than get 2nd, and he 'just can't take all that cryin' crap.' Okay Tom Hanks in League of their Own.

 Love, love, love this picture.
The 2nd game was a hot one!  We watched (through our fingers covering our eyes....:( ) in the shade.

 Proud of our Lady Rockets!

...and of their coach.  <3 span="">

waiting for daddy to finish with the media frenzy.  ;)
