Doesn't seem like he should be, but Grant is one! He may be boy #2 in birt
h order, but he's monkey #1. As you can clearly see, he thoroughly enjoyed his cake. He was a slow starter, but really got into it....and he ate MUCH more than I've seen a one year old eat before. Could explain the sugar coma he went into about 7:45 that night. (see last picture) So at age one Grant is:
*walking steadily. He can bend down and pick things up and stand up on his own.
*eating ALL table food, except for the oatmeal and rice we hide inside yogurt or applesauce at breakfast and bed time. He was over baby food two months ago. Who can b
lame him. We would've flipped over giving Landon half the stuff Grant eats already at his age. I mean, Landon's first birthday was the first time he'd ever had any sweets. Grant on the other hand, well, let's just say this wasn't his first rodeo.

Grant on the other hand, well, let's just say this wasn't his first rodeo. *taking three bottles a day. A 6ozer for breakfast and another one after his lunch. Then an 8ozer at bed time. I also switched to toddler formula (way earlier than the first time, primarily because we were totally out and that's all that stupid old Wal-Mart had)

*babbling like crazy but not really starting to talk much. He says "Mom!" and can say Dada, Andon (I think but Chad disagrees), and uh-oh. A conversationalist, he isn't....yet.
*throwing balls, toys, cups, food, CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS...pretty much whatever he can get his hands on.
*playing basketball on the little hoop downstairs. He puts his hands up in the air everytime he makes a basket. He also can kick a ball and puts his arms up for that as well. No "Goal!" yet but Daddy's working on it.
*trying to put socks and shoes on his feet. HI-LAR-IOUS!
*trying to talk to on the phone (or remote), points remotes at the TV, nabs Wii remotes and points them at the the TV.
*running away from you when he has something he knows he shouldn't.
*beginning to dance. He bounces and smiles when music is on.
*mainly Daddy and Papa's boy. If he has the choice he'd much rather be with the guys. He's a man's man.
*mostly sleeping through the night. He goes to bed around 8:30 and gets up around 6:30...sometimes earlier, but usually will go back to sleep with us in our bed if he does. He's outgrowing his morning nap, but takes a good hour or two in the afternoon.

*loving his binky at bedtime and naptime, and rubbin' his ribbons on his blankie while falling asleep. I do LOOOOVE that. So sweet.
Grant's favorite thing at the birthday party (besides the cake) was the balloons of course. I totally remember this exact thing with Landon at his first birthday party. He carried the balloons all over the house for several days.
...modeling his dino jammies in rocket colors from the Armbrusters.

...a new puzzle from G.G.

...an Elmo airplane, a rocking horse and a few of the women in Grant's life helping him out. :)
