December 11th, 2010

December 11, 2009 was a BIG day for us. It was Landon's last chemo treatment and the day we brought Grant home from the hospital. Landon's debut as a big brother and Grant's first ever ride in the car. We found it fitting that December 11, 2010 turned out to be the first ride Grant had in his big boy carseat...and that we do something fun.....like SEE SANTA!

Here he is in his last trip in his little man carseat. Yeah...he's hanging over the end....and what you can't see is that the handle on the carseat is starting to come apart, too because he's a big boy to haul in a little seat. It was time. We snapped him in his big boy seat and he, for the first time, got to watch the Incredibles with his big brother on the way to see Santa. In the last month or so, he's been seen watching it with his neck cranked around in his seat....now he can watch it more comfortably.....and THIS is what happens when you watch comfortably.....:) Sweet boy.

He made a quick come back though....our Santa visit involved breakfast and balloons. He was all over that.

And Uncle Stallion and Landon discussing something shocking I think. Not sure what the talk was...maybe those pancakes were super delicious...I don't know.

Landon happily hopped up on Santa's lap and asked him for Lego Baseball and Lego Football, and Scooby Doo and the Lake Monster. We explained to Landon we didn't know if Santa's workshop could make Lego Baseball or Football, since they didn't have such a thing in Toys 'R Us or on Amazon.com, but he held to his request.
Here are the three kids with Santa. Abby was having nothing to do with sitting on Santa's lap. We got her to stand this closely only by holding Landon's hand. Maybe next year....she's working up to it.

Grant was cooperative, but wasn't sure what to think of the big guy. I was surprised he didn't grab a big ole handful of beard and yank. That's totally Grant's style. He didn't though. Maybe he was afraid that would effect his gifts on Christmas morning.

Here's the Mehring family in a photo that should've been cropped but since I can't do that on this computer....you have a LARGE white background with little bitty Mehrings. And speaking of little bitty Mehrings....we found out in December that the next one is going to be another girl. Aunt Megan is PUMPED! It's only fitting that if we have two boys, they should have two girls. And then it would be FAIR if we both switched it up on number three. Right? Right? Do you think God reads the blog? ;)

Congrats, Scott and Kelly! We can't wait to meet the new Little Miss Mehring!
