I Can Do It By Myself! (insert growly determined voice here)

Oh, Mr. Independent.
Mr.  I Can Do It By MYSELF.
Getting dressed is now his bag.
He does NOT want any assistance of any kind so stand back...

and be prepared to turn your head the other way when one sock is upside down and his pants are backwards AND inside out.

This is determination people
and this is a face that doesn't want a camera in it.  :)

We went to St. Louis for a checkup for Landon this past Friday.  This appointment was scheduled three times.  To spare you the details, I'll give you the shortened version.  Appointment made last time we were there, for CT scan in 3 months (which we had been told we were up to 6 month appointments and would no longer have CT scans.  Um.  Yeah)  I called three days before appointment (made three months prior) only to find out that the hospital hadn't applied to Health Alliance for the certification to have the scan done.  And of course Health Alliance requires a week notice on such things that are not emergencies.  We have to cancel the appointment and reschedule.  We start asking questions and being a little grumpity because this frankly is ridiculous and then they say we don't have to have a CT scan, it's up to us.  ??????  WHY is it up to us?  Are we doctors?  Grr.  We set up appointment to go down for ultrasounds and chest xrays and to discuss further CT scans in two weeks.  The next day Chad tests positive for Influenza, and I'm so glad we aren't at the hospital exposing all of God's creation to it.  The day before the rescheduled appointment a blizzard hits and we have a snow day, and aren't silly enough to drive to St. Louis in it.  We cancel and reschedule.  Grant starts throwing up with a tummy bug and I'm so glad we aren't at the hospital exposing all of God's creation to it.  This Friday we get up and with all of our fingers crossed get in the car to go and no one gets sick.  The scans are clear.  There will be no more CT scans. (unless they bring in another different team of people to advise us otherwise, which really wouldn't surprise me)  For now:  YAY!  another appointment down.

Bonus to this trip, I was on a mission to buy an accent chair for our entry way, which Chad now refers to in his best butler accent as The Study.  He can call it whatever he wants....he drove me around looking for the perfect chair without any complaining...and Grant was high maintenance through the whole thing...with what we finally decided was gas.  ;)   The boys are a big fan of the chair because it came with a bonus for them.  A box....that was turned into a racecar, schoolbus, bookfair, fort....all in two days.  The boys fell asleep in it last night in 8 minutes flat with zero complaining.  This box may be a permanent fixture in our living room...at least for a few years.

Also have to put this picture on.  Grant's gotten into the habit of getting up in the wee hours of the morning to go potty...which I think is a good thing.  He wakes up when he's gotta go.  That's awesome.  What's even better is that when he's done going, he wants to snuggle...with Chad....not me.  Chad's even tried to roll him to my side but he won't stand for it.  Here are my boys sleeping away and pretending the time did NOT change.  I'm with em.  Dern this time change.
