Chica-GO!

The last weekend in June we headed to the Windy City for a little family weekend with Grandpa, Grandma, and Uncle Michael.  The drive was nothing compared to the drive to Gulf Shores.  Felt like we got there in a flash....it's all in perspective ya know  We stopped at an Arby's on the way up and snapped some photos with 'Extreme Glasses' from our Arby's kids meals.  Oh.  yeah.

Upon our arrival we took in some put-put golf and Landon had his first experience in a batting cage.  Video!

And here we are hangin' at the hotel before going out for dinner.  Mom brought the Kindle....the boys are a little crazy about Angry Birds

After eating at the Ram we found a little touristy area where they had a super cool bowling alley (that we weren't up for paying for! oh my word! ) so we let the boys kick off their shoes and run in the terf courtyard.  Then some more snugglin' at the hotel!

The next day we headed downtown to take in the Aquarium

And out of all of the cool fish and sea life we saw....THIS was Landon's favorite.  The eel?  The one that looks like a rock and doesn't ever move?!  Okay...

After the aquarium we ate at Rainforest Cafe

After we ate we walked 7 blocks in the blistering heat to go to Niketown...only to find out that it was closed for rennovations.  Soo....we walked back...in the blistering heat.  We should've called it a day then, but instead we pressed our luck and drove to Navy Pier...where Grant cried the majority of the time and the rest of us just got hotter and sweatier.  Navy Pier is cool....but not to a 2 year old and 5 year old (unless you to the Chidlren's Museum, which I'm sure is very neat, but we didn't get there til 3, so we figured it'd be a waste of money...looking back, it may have been worth it to be in the a/c.)

That night we had Giradano's pizza and the next morning we headed for home (but not without making Mom's first stop at an IKEA)  Successful family vacay!
